AmeriCorps Cape Cod is accepting applications for Year 24

May 9, 2022 (Barnstable, MA) Barnstable County’s AmeriCorps Cape Cod program has opened applications for member positions that would support our 24th year of service on Cape Cod.  Funded by AmeriCorps (the federal agency), Massachusetts Service Alliance, and Barnstable County, this national service program recruits up to 24 members to serve each year. The program focuses on meeting Cape Cod’s critical and pressing environmental and disaster response needs through a dedication to community service and local collaboration. Since 1999, the program has provided over 957,000 hours of service with an estimated value of service totaling $31,840,778 that benefits Barnstable County.  

AmeriCorps Cape Cod is a full-time residential service program where members can: 

  • Explore various sectors of the environmental and disaster preparedness fields. 

  • Gain valuable skills through training and hands-on service experience. 

  • Foster personal and professional development. 

  • Build leadership skills. 

  • Provide valuable and quality service for the environment and community of Cape Cod. 

Benefits include in-depth orientation and training, housing during the term of service, a living stipend with the option for health care benefits, and a Segal AmeriCorps Education Award of $6,495 from the National Service Trust upon successful and satisfactory completion of the program.
