Barnstable County Commissioners Meeting on September 1, 2021 

Every other week, the Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners hold a regular meeting to discuss important issues that impact our region.  We invite residents to participate in a public meeting or watch live streamed on our YouTube channel.

What’s on the Agenda today?

Meredith Ballinger, AmeriCorps Cape Cod’s Interim Program Coordinator, will give an overview of the AmeriCorps Cape Cod program.  She will discuss current operations and the types of services AmeriCorps Cape Cod provides to the Cape Cod community.

Also on the agenda is a discussion of a centralized, regionalized facility, making it easier for residents to dispose of household hazardous waste materials. The Cape Cod Regional Household Hazardous Waste Facility and Education Center is currently being planned by the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. The Commissioners will be asked to authorize the acceptance and execution of a Phase 1 grant between the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection and Barnstable County through the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension in the amount of $125,000.00, for the planning and site construction of the facility.

Elizabeth Braccia, Barnstable County’s Finance Director, will also be discussing the creation of Finance Committee, and it will potentially be voted on by the Commissioners.
