July 16, 2021 | Mosquitoes collected in Barnstable County tested positive for West Nile virus this week

July 15, 2021 | Falmouth, MA – One sample of 50 Culex pipiens/restuans mosquitoes trapped in Woods Hole collected on 7/13 tested positive for West Nile virus.
Testing is only positive or negative, so we don’t know how many mosquitoes in the batch were positive.
Reminder to the public to check property for standing water and use EPA registered repellents.
