VOLUME AND VALUE RISE AGAIN!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in March 2021 was up 11.9% from March 2020 volume and the total value of sales was up 49% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 15.8% from the previous year. There was a 74% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from March 2020 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 21.6%; Total Value of Sales is up 58.5%; Individual Sales Value is up 16.9%; Mortgage Volume is up 74.5%.
There were 2,394 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in March 2021 with a total value of $937,299,240.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $303,000.00.
By way of comparison there were 582 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in March 2020 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $314,497,117.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in March 2020 was $406,000.00.
There were 1,376 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in March 2020 with a total value of $527,104,991.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $300,000.00.
