Supporting and Preserving our Seafood Industry During COVID-19

A MESSAGE FROM CAPE COD COOPERATIVE EXTENSION: Our local fishermen, seafood harvesters, and shellfish farmers have been feeding out communities for centuries. The COVID-19 pandemic is showing us how essential our local food producers are in a time of crisis. Since most seafood is consumed through restaurants, local fish businesses are facing a challenging time. Now more than ever, it’s important to support the women and men who can keep us fed in uncertain times.

Massachusetts seafood is not only a healthy choice during this time, but will also keep our seafood industry, vital to the economy and culture of our area, afloat. Our Extension staff is proud to be able to work with the local seafood industry through collaboration with Woods Hole Sea Grant,  Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance,  and other agencies.
