SALES VOLUME AND VALUE RISE!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in March 2020 was up 6% from March 2019 volume and the total value of sales was up 10.1% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 9.7% from the previous year. There was a 59% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from March 2019 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 5.5%; Total Value of Sales is up 3.9%; Individual Sales Value is up 8.2%; Mortgage Volume is up 55%.
There were 1,376 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in March 2020 with a total value of $527,104,991.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $300,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 549 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in March 2019 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $285,573,717.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in March 2019 was $370,000.00.
There were 865 mortgages recorded with values above
$50,000.00 in March 2019 with a
total value of $297,309,462.00.
The median mortgage
amount, commercial, residential or other, was $265,000.00.
