SALES &MORTGAGE VOLUME RISE!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in January 2020 was up 17.4% from January 2019 volume and the total value of sales was up 2% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 6.8% from the previous year. There was a 59% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from January 2019 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 17.4%; Total Value of Sales is up 2%; Individual Sales Value is up 6.8%; Mortgage Volume is up 59%.
Register Meade reports that there were 541 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in January 2020 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $269,538,225.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in January 2020 was $375,000.00.
There were 1,237 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in January 2019 with a total value of $426,437,604.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $284,900.00.
By way of comparison, there were 461 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in January 2019 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $264,322,212.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in January 2019 was $351,000.00.
There were 780 mortgages recorded with values above
$50,000.00 in January 2019 with a total value of $269,582,587.00. The median
mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $255,445.00.
