BACKYARD HORTICULTURE 2020
Announcing the dates for Backyard Horticulture 2020. This program, being taught by Master Gardeners, will offer you the basics on various gardening techniques now, so you’ll be ready to get those gardens going in the spring. Pick the location that works best for you. Barnstable or Harwich. Check the brochure for complete dates and times. Cost is $75 (non-refundable) and pre-registration is required to hold your spot. So don’t wait register now! Classes do fill up quickly. Completed registration forms and payment payable to Master Gardener Association can be mailed to Backyard Horticulture, Cape Cod Cooperative Extension, P.O. Box 367, Barnstable, MA 02630.
UMASS GARDEN CALENDAR ON SALE – GREAT HOLIDAY GIFT IDEA!
The 2020 UMASS Garden Calendar is now on sale at the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension. The 2020 UMass Garden Calendar feature article is Rhododendron Cultural Requirements and Care. The article focuses on soil conditions, light conditions, care and recognizing winter damage. Also includes general information and types of species native to Massachusetts. Many people also love the daily tips and find the daily sunrise/sunset times highly useful.
Cost is $14.00 each. Cost to our active military member’s and veteran’s is only $10. Bulk orders are available for orders of 10 or more to one address for $9.00 each, plus shipping and handling.
You may purchase the calendar at the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension office, located in the basement of the Deeds and Probate Building, 3195 Main St., Barnstable, between the hours of 8:00am-4:30pm.
