Barnstable, MA, December 18, 2019 AmeriCorps Cape Cod and the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension are organizing a holiday lights recycling drive in partnership with town transfer stations. All transfer stations on Cape Cod will be collecting used, unwanted, or broken holiday string lights until the end of January 2020. AmeriCorps members will be collecting the string lights and bringing them to Ferreira’s Metal Recycling in Hyannis, where the copper and other metals in the strings will be recycled.
