The following is a message from the Veterans’ Bonus Division Office of the Treasurer and Receiver General of Massachusetts

We are proud to provide bonus payments for eligible veterans, service members, and their families who have served in the United States Armed Forces.

Global War on Terrorism (GWOT) Welcome Home Bonus
Active/Reserve/Guard & Discharged Service Members
For service from September 11, 2001 – Present

• $1000 – First Deployment to Afghanistan, Iraq, or other

Imminent Danger locations

• $500 – First continuous six months within the U.S. or overseas

(not Imminent Danger locations)

Subsequent Bonuses (multiple deployments)

• $500 – Subsequent deployment to Afghanistan, Iraq, or other

Imminent Danger locations

• $250 – Subsequent 6-month deployment in support of

Operation Enduring Freedom, Iraqi Freedom, Noble Eagle,  Inherent Resolve or an affiliated operation.

Vietnam Bonus

For 6 months of service between July 1, 1958 – May 17, 1975

• $300 – Service in Vietnam
• $200 – Service other than in Vietnam

Korea Bonus

For service between June 25, 1950 – January 31, 1955

• $300 – Overseas service
• $200 – Over 6 months within U.S.
• $100 – Less than six months within U.S.

WWII Bonus

For service between September 16, 1940 – July 25, 1947

• $300 – Overseas service or Merchant Marine
• $200 – Over 6 months of service within U.S.
• $100 – Less than 6 months of service
