SALES VALUE AND MORTGAGE VOLUME CLIMB!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in August 2019 was down 2.9% from August 2018 volume and the total value of sales was up 8.7% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 6.8% from the previous year. There was a 17% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from August 2018 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is down 1.9%; Total Value of Sales is up 5.5%; Individual Sales Value is up 3.2%; Mortgage Volume is up 1.5%.
There were 1,163 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in August 2019 with a total value of $466,529,640.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $300,000.00.
By way of comparison, there were 685 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in August 2018 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $348,864,366.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in August 2018 was $373,500.00.
There were 994 mortgages
recorded with values above $50,000.00 in August
2018 with a total value of $350,039,923.00. The median
mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $259,731.00.
