Draft 2020 Regional Transportation Plan Available for Review

Planning for the Future Transportation Needs of Cape Cod

The Cape Cod Metropolitan Planning Organization released the Draft Cape Cod 2020 Regional Transportation Plan for a 21-day public review and comment period.

The Regional Transportation Plan (RTP) is the long-range plan that sets the vision for the region’s transportation system through 2040 and beyond. The RTP sets the priorities for federal and state spending on transportation projects in your community.

Members of the public are invited to review these documents and provide comments. The Draft 2020 RTP can be found at www.capecodcommission.org/rtp.

Office hours will be held during the last week of June to answer questions and accept public comments on the 2020 RTP. Interested members of the public can stop in at the Cape Cod Commission Office (3225 Main Street [Route 6A], Barnstable) or call 508-362-3828.

Staff will be available during the times listed below. Other times are available by appointment.

  • Monday, June 24, 2019: 10 a.m. – Noon
  • Wednesday, June 26, 2019: 1 – 3 p.m.
  • Thursday, June 27, 2019: 3 – 5 p.m.

A public meeting of the Cape Cod MPO is scheduled for July 15, 2019, at 1 PM to hear additional public comments and consider endorsement of 2020 RTP. This meeting will be held at the East Wing Conference Room, Old Jail Building, 3195 Main Street (Route 6A), Barnstable, MA  02630. Transit service is available on the Cape Cod Regional Transit Authority’s Barnstable Villager Route (Barnstable Village-Courthouse stop).

Comments on the 2020 RTP may be sent via mail, hand-delivered, by fax, or via e-mail, by July 8, 2019, as follows:
