Barnstable County’s New East Wing Conference Room
The Barnstable County Board of Regional Commissioners is scheduled to hold their regular meeting in the new East Wing Conference room tomorrow, Wednesday, March 13th at 10:00 AM.
The new East Wing Conference Room is located at the Barnstable County Complex at the top of the hill in the old jailhouse (to the left of the Department of Health and Environment) and is fully accessible.
The conference room was created from what was a 28-cell wing of the former Barnstable County House of Corrections built in 1935. Roughly 2500 square feet has been renovated over the last three years by completely gutting the old cells and rebuilding the entire area from the floor up.
The space has a new HVAC system, plumbing, framing, and flooring. It also includes a state-of-the-art audio/visual system, allowing for presentations, training, and meetings for all County departments, and will be the regular meeting location for the Board of Commissioners and Assembly of Delegates. With a seating capacity of 99 persons, this room will serve a wide variety of needs in the future.
