Barnstable, MA – Chemical Safety and Climate Change Preparedness Workshop
Many businesses, such as hospitals, boatyards, painters, landscapers, and hotels, use chemicals in their day-to-day operations. Many businesses are not aware of free and anonymous programs offered by the state to keep chemicals secure during extreme weather. Find out more about these programs from state and local officials at the free Chemical Safety and Climate Change Preparedness workshop on 12/12/18. The event will be held at the West Barnstable Community Center and will run from 9:30 to 11:30. Call Cape Cod Cooperative Extension to register at 508-375-6690.
Kalliope Chute, Hazardous Materials Environmental Specialist at the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension says, “Keeping chemicals safe and secure in fire, flood, or other emergencies is imperative to keeping our unconfined, sole source aquifer protected.”
The workshop is free. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP by calling the Cape Cod Cooperative Extension office at 508-375-6690.
