Welcoming New Members | AmeriCorps Cape Cod

Barnstable County is proud to announce the 19th year of AmeriCorps Cape Cod.  National service is an important American value which solves local problems, unites communities and creates a generation of leaders. For nearly two decades, AmeriCorps Cape Cod members have served our communities.

Thirty-two new members, who come from all over the United States, will spend the next 11 months assisting with disaster-preparedness and the environmental needs of Cape Cod.  AmeriCorps Cape Cod focuses on such tasks as shellfish propagation, herring run clearing, prescribed burns for wildfire prevention, dolphin stranding response, coastal erosion control, invasive species removal and much more.

Barnstable County Commissioners will perform the swearing in of our new AmeriCorps Cape Cod members on Wednesday, September 27th at 9:00 AM on the steps of the Superior Courthouse.
