SALES VOLUME & VALUE REMAIN STRONG!
Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in November 2016 was up 16.2% from November 2015 volume and the total value of sales was up 15.8% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 4.3% from the previous year. There was a 41.7% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from November 2015 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 11.6%; Total Value of Sales is up 14.3%; Individual Sales Value is up 3%; Mortgage Volume is up 12.2%.
Register Meade reports that there were 661 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in November 2016 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $314,861,364.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in November was $360,000.00.
There were 1,322 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in November with a total value of $541,597,556.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $265,109.00.
By way of comparison, Register Meade reports that there were 569 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in November 2015 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $271,882,462.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in November was $345,000.00.
There were 933 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in November with a total value of $337,928,254.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $241,131.00.
