Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in September 2016 was up 6% from September 2015 volume and the total value of sales was up 12.1% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 2% from the previous year. There was a 32.1% increase in the volume of mortgage activity from September 2015 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 12.4%; Total Value of Sales is up 14.8%; Individual Sales Value is up 1.9%; Mortgage Volume is up 8.1%.
Register Meade reports that there were 746 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in September 2016 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $384,539,181.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in September was $350,000.00.
There were 1,296 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in September with a total value of $472,820,104.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $256,632.00.
By way of comparison, there were 704 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in September 2015 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $343,050,647.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in September was $343,250.00.
There were 981 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in September with a total value of $359,572,433.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $250,000.00.
