As winter storm pulls away BCREPC stands down
BARNSTABLE (MA) February 8, 2016 – With weather reports indicating the winter storm is pulling away, and with minimal power outages on Cape Cod, the Barnstable County Regional Emergency Planning Committee (BCREPC) made the decision to stand down during its 4:00 p.m. conference call.
The Barnstable County Multi-Agency Coordination Center (MACC) will end operations at 6 p.m. Monday and all Regional Shelter System partners have been released from stand-by status.
The BCREPC continues to advise the citizens of Barnstable County to remain indoors and avoid travel through the evening hours to enable road crews to treat and clear roadways. Even though the storm is moving away, bands of ocean effect snow have the potential to drop several more inches of accumulation on the Cape and South Shore.
