Barnstable County Register of Deeds, John F. Meade, reports that the volume of real estate sales in October 2015 was down 0.9% from October 2014 volume and the total value of sales was down 3.4% from the previous year. The median individual property sale value was up 5.4% from the previous year. There was a 0.6% decrease in the volume of mortgage activity from October 2014 levels.
Year to Date: Volume of Sales is up 2.2%; Total Value of Sales is down 0.3%; Individual Sales Value is up 2.3%; Mortgage Volume is up 15.7%.
Register Meade reports that there were 676 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in October 2015 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $320,671,822.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in October was $337,300.00.
There were 1,053 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in October with a total value of $439,917,696.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $249,058.00.
By way of comparison, there were 682 deeds recorded at the Barnstable Registry of Deeds in October 2014 with stated sales values above $50,000.00 representing a stated value of $332,127,953.00 in county-wide real estate sales. Based on all property sales valued above $50,000.00, the median sale price of property in Barnstable County in October was $320,000.00.
There were 1,059 mortgages recorded with values above $50,000.00 in October with a total value of $325,524,869.00. The median mortgage amount, commercial, residential or other, was $225,000.00.
