Barnstable County Places In Top 10 U.S. Digital Counties 2015 AGAIN!

Barnstable County logoFor the second year in a row,  Barnstable County is being recognized as one of the nation’s leading examples of counties using technology to improve services and boost efficiencies.   This year, Barnstable County placed 8th in the nation (population category 150,000-249,999) as a fantastic followup to their 2014 9th Place Award. The Center for Digital Government (CDG) and the National Association of Counties (NACo) their 2015 Digital Counties Survey winners today and thanks to its progressive technology force and regional services, Barnstable County was once again a Top Ten Winner!  The national survey is conducted each year to identify U.S. Counties using technology and open government practices to better serve their citizens.  View the 13th Annual Digital Counties Survey 2015 results.

The survey, conducted by the CDG and Digital Communities program, in partnership with NACo, identifies best technology practices among U.S. counties.

Barnstable County IT Director Billy Traverse is attending the awards ceremony again, this year in Charlotte, NC, where the top-ranked counties will be honored at a reception during the 2015 National Association of Counties annual conference.
