Cape Cod Mosquito Control PSA

The sound of the rain reminds us that this would be a good time to take a walk around your yards after a rain event and empty standing water out of any containers.

A small jar that holds water for 10 days to two weeks will provide larval habitat for hundreds of mosquitoes.

The type of mosquitoes found in these containers is the species of mosquitoes that carry West Nile Virus and the Eastern Equine Encephalitis virus (EEEV).

Mosquitoes don’t fly far from their breeding sites, so people can control them, and West Nile Virus & EEEV, in their own yard by just emptying containers of standing water.

(Don’t forget the gutters!)
